SyncedDocs (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and handle your information when you use the SyncedDocs Google Workspace Add-on to sync content between Google Docs and Notion.
When you install and use SyncedDocs, we access limited Google user data strictly required to provide the service:
Authentication Data
We access your Google email address to identify your account and manage subscription status. The email address is converted into a hashed identifier for internal reference and is not stored in plain text.
Google Docs Content
We access the content of the currently active Google Doc only when you explicitly open and use the add-on. This access is required to read document structure and content for syncing to Notion.
SyncedDocs does not access other Google Docs, your full Google Drive, or run background scans.
To support advanced sync functionality (such as detecting changes between syncs), SyncedDocs may temporarily process and store document structure and content.
Document data is processed only when a user initiates a sync
Stored data represents document state and metadata, not continuous document monitoring
No background or automatic syncing occurs
We use collected information solely for the following purposes:
To sync Google Docs content to user-selected Notion pages
To manage subscriptions and feature access (Free vs Pro)
To improve sync accuracy, reliability, and performance
To provide user support when requested
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or resale.
We implement industry-standard security practices to protect sensitive data:
Encryption in Transit
All data transmitted between Google Docs, our servers, and third-party services is protected using HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Encryption at Rest
Any temporarily stored document data and metadata is encrypted at rest by our database provider.
Access Controls
Access to stored data is restricted to authorized systems and services only. No human access is performed unless required for debugging with user consent.
Minimal Data Retention
We retain document-related data only as long as necessary to provide sync functionality. Data is deleted when it is no longer required or upon user request.
No Credential Storage
We do not store Google account passwords, Notion passwords, or payment card details.
We share data only with trusted third-party providers required to operate the service:
Notion
Document content is sent to Notion via the official Notion API to create or update pages selected by the user.
Supabase
Used as a backend database to securely store document state, metadata, and user identifiers required for sync logic.
Dodo Payments
Used for subscription and billing management. We may send a hashed user identifier to facilitate checkout. We do not store credit card or payment information.
Each third-party provider is responsible for maintaining its own security and compliance standards.
SyncedDocs’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We use Google user data only to provide the requested functionality and do not use it for advertising or unrelated purposes.
